Hikari, the Iro-tsumugi (Weaver of Color), guarded a sanctuary of light in a world of deep monochrome. Her flower-laden kimono was her toolkit, each blossom a reservoir for forgotten shades. Today, the world needed Hope.
Standing at her window, a copper-red peony on her shoulder began to glow with a determined, fiery red. She pulled a ribbon spun from starlight, and the color flowed to her fingertips, erupting as a spray of radiant particles.
The light rushed out, instantly transforming the gray river ripples into indigo and painting the mountain crest with the dusty-rose glow of a first dawn. The effect was fleeting, but Hikari smiled, knowing the memory of that color would bloom in every creature’s dreams.
